Slow Start

It's been a slow start to 2017. I was so burnt out at the end of 2016 from work, preparing for Crafty Wonderland, going home for the holidays, constantly getting outraged by things going on in America, etc, that when I got back to Portland, going back to work in the studio was one of the last things I wanted to do.

So I took a little break, took care of myself, and slowly started getting back into the swing of things.

We also had a week-long snowpocalypse here in Portland that pretty much shut down the city. It was so beautiful and amazing the first night that it snowed 8 inches in my part of town, but after a while the slippery streets gets old. My Yaktrax got a lot of use this winter! I did love the snow though :) I also went on a little inspiration trip to Vancouver and Seattle by train for a few days and it was so nice to just be a tourist and walk some new streets.

Now I'm pretty ready to get back to work, I recently prototyped a new tote bag and am thinking about sampling some duffel bags and weekender bags! I feel like I established a good foundation of simple totes and crossbody bags last year that I'm excited to think up some new things, new silhouettes, new fabrics.

Another thing I'm mulling over these days is my cadence for releasing new things this year. The idea of doing seasons never really appealed to me, so I'm thinking of trying out small batch releases of one product at a time. What do you think?

Excited to bring some new ideas to life, stay tuned!
